Stephen Scariff Director T.C.R.G/ A.D.C.R.G

Stephen is a passionate Irish dancer, choreographer, producer, and teacher from Galway, Ireland. He fell in love with Irish dance at a young age and learned from Mairead O’Flaherty, one of the best teachers in the country. He won multiple regional, national, and international titles, including top 3 placements at the All Ireland and World Championships.

At the age of 15, he fulfilled his dream of joining Michael Flatley’s Lord of the Dance as the youngest dancer ever hired by the show. He performed the lead role of the ‘Good Lord’ for four years, sharing his joy and skill with audiences around the world.

He then pursued his creative vision and created his own show, Irish Dance Invasion, which broke box office records and toured successfully across Europe. He also spread his love for Irish dance and culture by founding his own dancing schools in Austria, Czech Republic, Slovakia, and Poland, where he trained hundreds of dancers to become Champions.

In 2007, he moved to the U.S. and became accredited by An Comisiun le Rinci Gaelacha, the world’s largest Irish Dance organization. He established the Scariff School of Irish Dance, which offers classes in Florida (Tampa, South Tampa, St. Petersburg, Palm Harbor),  Utah (North Salt Lake City, Sandy , Logan), Nevada (Las Vegas), Montana (Helena).

The school is known for its excellence and achievements, with dancers winning in solo and team categories at Regional level and placing in the top five at the North American, All Ireland, All Scotland, Great Britain and World Championships.

The school has also inspired and developed dancers who have starred in leading roles or performed as chorus line dancers in The Lord of the Dance, Riverdance and other Irish Dance productions.

In 2012, Stephen became a certified Adjudicator and has been invited to judge prestigious Irish Dancing competitions worldwide. He considers this one of his greatest accomplishments and an invaluable asset to his school, as it helps him coach his dancers from an adjudicator’s perspective.

Stephen’s goal is to provide a home for every dancer who joins his school and to help them reach their full potential through character building, confidence boosting, and hard work. He also wants to share his passion for Irish dance and culture with as many people as possible. He and his school have fulfilled this goal by producing dancers who enjoy success and recognition on an international level while making lifelong friends along the way.

Stephen currently serves as the President of the Western U.S. Regional Council

Mia Leonelli

T.C.R.G

Mia is thrilled to be part of the Scariff team. As a Utah native, she loves being back in her home state and sharing her passion for Irish dance. She danced professionally with Riverdance for two years, touring across the USA and Canada and performing in Dublin. She then moved back to Utah to pursue her education. Mia completed her master’s degree in Accounting at the University of Utah.

Mia started dancing in 1999 with the Bracken School in Arizona. In 2003, she moved to California and joined the Claddagh School of Irish Dancing under the direction of Maire O’Connell. Mia danced with the Claddagh school for 14 years, achieving remarkable results as a solo and team dancer. She won two regional solo titles (2009, 2013), placed in the top three at the North American Nationals, and placed in the top 10 at the World Irish Dancing Championships.

Mia also excelled academically. She graduated from the University of California, Santa Barbara in 2015 with a B.A. in History. Mia was chosen out of hundreds of dancers who auditioned to tour with the world-famous dance show Riverdance from 2015-2017.

After her last tour with Riverdance, Mia relocated to Utah with ambitions of attending graduate school.

She joined the Scariff School of Irish Dance as a pupil and assistant teacher. In 2018, her 4-hand team became the first Utah based dance team to win The Western U.S regional title. In 2019, she recaptured the Western US regional solo title, marking the end of her competitive career.

Mia successfully passed the T.C.R.G exam through An Coimisiun le Rinci Gaelacha in December of 2019 and has been an active member of the teaching staff since.

Mia loves teaching Irish dance and helping her students grow and achieve their goals. She is proud to be part of the Scariff family and looks forward to sharing her knowledge and experience with the next generation of dancers.
